Ron DeSantis has issued an executive order suspending local COVID-19 restrictions and mandates.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tampabay.com\/news\/education\/2021\/05\/03\/desantis-order-ending-local-mask-rules-does-not-apply-to-schools\">The Florida Department of Education has clarified that this order does not apply to school districts.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PCPS will continue to require that students, staff&nbsp; and visitors wear face coverings on our campuses and in our office buildings for the remainder of the 2020-21 school year, which ends June 3. We will also continue to practice social distancing, frequent sanitation of our facilities, and all other COVID-19 protocols that have been in place since the start of the school year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PCPS leadership continues to discuss safety protocols for the upcoming school year. We are optimistic that in 2021-22, we will be much closer to normal.
