The 17-year-old resides in Vancouver, Washington, where she attends Skyview high school.\u00a0 Her platform is to encourage people to register to vote.\u00a0 An accomplished singer, she performed \u201cSomewhere Over the Rainbow.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cFrom its beginnings, MAOTeen has focused on supporting and inspiring young women through scholastic achievement, healthy living and community involvement,\u201d said MAOTeen Chair of the Board of Directors Donna Bozarth. \u201cAll of the commitment and perseverance that the state titleholders have shown during competition reflects the hard work and community outreach efforts they have accomplished in their hometowns.&nbsp; We congratulate them all and look forward to many exciting things in store for Payton throughout the upcoming year.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miss America&#8217;s Outstanding Teen will also act as the official National Teen Goodwill Ambassador for Children&#8217;s Miracle Network Hospitals, a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children&#8217;s hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"720\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/5S0A3727-Top-5-2019-MAOTeen-TN-AZ-WA-KY-MO.jpg?resize=1024%2C720&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1098\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/5S0A3727-Top-5-2019-MAOTeen-TN-AZ-WA-KY-MO.jpg?resize=1024%2C720&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/5S0A3727-Top-5-2019-MAOTeen-TN-AZ-WA-KY-MO.jpg?resize=300%2C211&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/5S0A3727-Top-5-2019-MAOTeen-TN-AZ-WA-KY-MO.jpg?resize=768%2C540&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/5S0A3727-Top-5-2019-MAOTeen-TN-AZ-WA-KY-MO.jpg?w=2220&amp;ssl=1 2220w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first runner-up was Miss Arizona\u2019s Outstanding Teen,&nbsp;Katelyn Cai, who earned a $10,000 scholarship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Second runner-up honors and a $7,500 scholarship were awarded to Miss Kentucky\u2019s Outstanding Teen, Landry Feldmeier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Third runner-up and the winner of a $5,000 scholarship was Miss Tennessee\u2019s Outstanding Teen,&nbsp;Taylor Parsons.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The winner of a $2,000 scholarship and fourth runner-up was Miss Missouri\u2019s Outstanding Teen,&nbsp;<em>Shae<\/em>&nbsp;Smith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miss Idaho\u2019s Outstanding Teen,&nbsp;Kaila Yacuk,&nbsp;was the winner of America&#8217;s Choice, an online competition where viewers were given the opportunity to vote for their favorite Miss America&#8217;s Outstanding Teen contestant and guarantee the contestant a spot as a semi-finalist and a $1,000 scholarship. She became the 15th semi-finalist to compete in the finals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a><strong>About Miss America&#8217;s Outstanding Teen<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miss America&#8217;s Outstanding Teen, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is one of the nation&#8217;s leading achievement programs.
