While that law goes into effect July 1, it\u2019s already being implemented in Polk County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cDuring the 2021 legislative session, Senate bill 60 passed and changes the way anonymous code enforcement complaints will be processed around the state,\u201d said Code Enforcement Director Autumn Fenton. \u201cAs of last week, the process has already been implemented in our division so that everyone can become acclimated. Please bear with us as we work through these changes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, even without a complaint from a resident, the new change will not prevent a code investigator from going out and citing a property owner for violations they observe, Fenton added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information on the new changes, or to file a complaint, call the Polk Code Enforcement office at\u00a0<a>(863) 534-6054<\/a>.
