As requirements are eased across the country, there\u2019s still a need for some of the most protective kinds of masks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Health care workers require PPE while taking care of patients, and a manufacturer in Lakeland has been there to provide some of the life-saving supplies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe believe we can compete with China from a cost standpoint without compromising the efficacy of the respirator itself,\u201d said Matt Muller, president of Advanced Concept Innovations<\/a> in Lakeland.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACI is a 285,000 sq. ft. facility located in Lakeland, FL (between Tampa and Orlando). While other contract packaging and manufacturing companies try to provide innovation to their product and other competitors try to provide quality, ACI is unique as we deliver on both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ACI is an ISO 13485, ISO 9001, & ISO 22716 Certified and FDA Registered contract packaging & manufacturing provider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the pandemic gripped the country, ACI launched one of the nation\u2019s largest production lines for N95 respirator masks. Muller says the venture has employed hundreds of Polk County residents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019re able to create jobs for the engineers and the hundreds of other people who work here,\u201d Muller said. \u201cWe currently have over 450 employees, and we\u2019ve been fortunate \u2014 we\u2019ve added over 300 jobs since this time last year.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

And those employees have been busy. ACI has produced 90 million masks and has the ability to churn out 1.5 million every day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cUnfortunately, health care personnel were forced to use these masks for several shifts \u2014 sometimes for seven days, two weeks \u2014 you hear the horror stories,\u201d Muller said. \u201cWe\u2019re hoping to be a part of that solution.\u201d  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Muller said ACI will continue to produce the equipment those on the front lines need to stay safe.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
