Those individuals who are unable to wear a mask because of medical conditions will be provided with a face mask, according to the policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;These protocols are necessary to protect our city workforce,&#8221; Sherrouse wrote in his email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lakeland has continuously screened all visitors to City Hall&nbsp;for COVID with temperature checks and a questionnaire since the pandemic began. There is no mandate&nbsp;that visitors wear a mask, &#8220;but masks are encouraged,&#8221; according to city spokesperson Kevin Cook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cities&#8217; actions adhere to the latest recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which recommended everyone wear masks while indoors in areas of high transmission regardless of their vaccination status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lakeland is not providing any vaccination incentives to its&nbsp;employees at this time, Cook said.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lakeland officials are following the lead of Bartow and Haines City in implementing stronger COVID policies as cases rise across Polk County.
