{"id":14766,"date":"2021-09-06T17:11:34","date_gmt":"2021-09-06T21:11:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/?p=14766"},"modified":"2021-09-06T17:11:48","modified_gmt":"2021-09-06T21:11:48","slug":"judge-sets-no-bond-for-marine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/2021\/09\/06\/judge-sets-no-bond-for-marine\/","title":{"rendered":"Judge sets no bond for Marine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 276px) 100vw, 276px\" src=\"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/RILEY-BRYAN-JAMES.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-14768\" width=\"183\" height=\"229\"\/><figcaption> Bryan Riley booking photo<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bryan Riley, 33, of Brandon served as a U.S. Marine sharpshooter in Iraq and Afghanistan, and was honorably discharged, Sheriff Grady Judd said during a news conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Riley admitted to investigators Sunday morning he shot five people in north Lakeland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Riley was booked into the Polk County Jail Sunday on multiple felony charges:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Four counts of first-degree murder<\/li><li>Seven counts of attempted first-degree murder of law enforcement officers<\/li><li>A separate count of attempted murder<\/li><li>One count of arson<\/li><li>Two counts of armed burglary with assault<\/li><li>Shooting into a building.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Riley went in front of a judge for the first time at 9 a.m. this morning.
