On Monday, September 13, 2021 at 9:30 AM the City was notified that a Spectrum boring contractor had hit a forcemain at the intersection of Peachtree and Eastside Dr. in Lakeland. Crews were sent to the site and the pump station that flows into that forcemain was shut down remotely. A vactor truck and repair crew was sent to the site and another vactor truck was sent to the station to keep it maintained until the forcemain could be fixed. Approximately 100 gallons of wastewater was spilled, and all was recovered. No wastewater entered waters of the state and no human or environmental impact were observed. The spill was stopped by 10:00 AM and the forcemain was repaired and returned back to service at 1:00 PM. The area was washed down and lime applied to the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
