Florida Southern College women’s basketball has added an exhibition contest at Florida State, head coach Betsy Harris<\/a> announced on Wednesday. The Moccasins will travel to Tallahassee to take on the Seminoles on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. at the Donald L. Tucker Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s a really exciting opportunity for us to go and play at Florida State,” Harris said. “It will be a great experience, especially for a young team like ours, to go and play in a big-time college basketball environment.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Florida Southern and Florida State have not met on the hardwood since Feb. 7, 1980, a 97-58 win for the Seminoles in the only meeting ever between the two programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Moccasins are coming off a 30-4 record from last year, which included a South Regional runner-up finish to go along with SSC regular-season and tournament titles. FSU went 24-9 a year ago, including a 10-6 mark in ACC action, and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament after a first-round win over Bucknell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
