Lee University received votes in the WBCA NCAA Division II Preseason Coaches Poll.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"942\" height=\"628\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_9785.jpg?resize=942%2C628&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17122\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_9785.jpg?w=942&amp;ssl=1 942w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_9785.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/IMG_9785.jpg?resize=768%2C512&amp;ssl=1 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Moccasins (0-1) converted on just 25.4% of their field goals and 13.0% from the three point line, while being held to single digits in both quarters of the first half of the game as the Flames (1-0) picked up their first win of the season.&nbsp;<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fscmocs.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=3753\">Whitney Jacob<\/a><\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;led the Moccasins with 11 points in her first game as a Moc, while Lee had two players finish in double figures in the win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1st Quarter |<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Jacob started off the scoring for the Mocs with a 3-pointer giving them their only lead of the game.<\/li><li>The Mocs would then go down by five, as Lee put up four unanswered field goals.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fscmocs.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=3745\">Sanya Ratnikava<\/a><\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;would be the first to answer for the Mocs with 3:32 left in the first quarter. The junior&#8217;s layup would shorten Lee&#8217;s lead back to three.<\/li><li>Lee would score in the final 36 seconds of the quarter to make the score 5-12 at the end of the first.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2nd Quarter |&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Lee opened up the scoring for the quarter with a jump shot from Haley Schubert, followed by a three pointer from Julia Duncan.<\/li><li>The Mocs began their scoring for the quarter with a big three pointer by&nbsp;freshman&nbsp;<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fscmocs.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=3749\">Arriyanna Bracero<\/a><\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;with 3:28 left in the quarter.<\/li><li>Freshman&nbsp;<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fscmocs.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=3754\">Marissa Jenike<\/a><\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;added to the Mocs score with a jump shot in the paint.<\/li><li>Lee missed both free throws in the final 10 seconds of the quarter, while the Mocs ended the half trailing by 19 with a score of 10-29.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3rd Quarter |&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The Mocs started the second half with a layup from&nbsp;<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fscmocs.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=3750\">Arielle Dabu<\/a><\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;assisted by&nbsp;<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fscmocs.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=3747\">Mackenzie Steele<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.<\/li><li>Jacob and Bracero added to the Moccasin run with a pair of layups, bringing the Mocs within 15.<\/li><li>Steele put up her first three pointer of the season, breaking 20 points for the Moccasins.<\/li><li>Jenike scores another jump shot, as the Mocs begin to close the Flames&nbsp; lead gap.<\/li><li>Dabu made both free throws at the 1:27 mark of the third quarter.&nbsp;<\/li><li>A steal by Dabu late in the quarter created a scoring opportunity for the Mocs, as&nbsp;<strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/fscmocs.com\/roster.aspx?rp_id=3755\">Paula Real<\/a><\/em>&nbsp;<\/strong>scored for the Mocs with a dunk.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Dabu made two more free throws with six seconds left to end the quarter 28-41.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>4th Quarter |&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Dabu opened up the final quarter with two more free throws, making her 5-for-6 on free throws for the night<\/li><li>Jenike collected a rebound to convert for another two points for the Mocs as she was fouled on the shot. The freshman would make the free throw to bring the Mocs within 11.<\/li><li>With 2:38 in the quarter, Jacob put up two free throw points, finishing the game with 11 total points.<\/li><li>Jenike was fouled on a layup and put on the free throw line. The Cincinnati native scored both free throws.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Despite the Mocs second half effort, they could not answer back as the final score of the game was 44-63.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>INSIDE THE NUMBERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Florida Southern fell to 5-4 all-time against Lee.<\/li><li>From the field, the Mocs shot 25.4% going 15-for-59.
