While the Omicron variant of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus<\/a> seems to be causing less severe disease than the Delta variant, it\u2019s still landing some people in hospitals, highlighting the need for effective treatment before cases progress to that stage, a frontline doctor says.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Syed Haider has treated more than 4,000 COVID-19<\/a>-positive patients so far during the pandemic. Just five ended up going to a hospital, and none have died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The doctor said his preferred treatments include many off-label medications along with vitamins and supplements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cVitamin D is really important, ivermectin is important, fluvoxamine, hydroxychloroquine also works, it\u2019s just a lot of people have been convinced that it doesn\u2019t at this point, and are scared off of trying it,\u201d Haider told NTD\u2019s \u201cCapitol Report<\/a>.\u201d \u201cBut I prefer ivermectin, fluvoxamine, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, quercetin, zinc.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic that has had mixed results against COVID-19 in clinical trials and isn\u2019t advised by the Food and Drug Administration to treat the disease. Fluvoxamine is an antidepressant that\u2019s gaining popularity for use against COVID-19. Hydroxychloroquine is an anti-malarial that has shown some success in treating the disease. Quercetin is a plant pigment that\u2019s not widely known yet as a treatment for COVID-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haider has also recommended flax seed oil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOne really easy thing that anyone can do is just follow the directions on a bottle of hydrogen peroxide, you can get this at the store, can dilute it down to 1 percent swish swish it through your nose, or swish it through your mouth and drip it into your nose or use a neti pot to rinse out your nose. And it\u2019s not uncomfortable, it shouldn\u2019t be burning, if it\u2019s burning, you would want to dilute it a little bit more, and that kills the virus on contact,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haider\u2019s list differs from the National Institutes of Health\u2019s recently updated treatment recommendations<\/a> for non hospitalized COVID-19 patients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The agency recommends using Pfizer\u2019s COVID-19 pill, known as paxlovid; Merck\u2019s pill, called molnupiravir; GlaxoSmithKline\u2019s monoclonal antibody treatment, sotrovimab; or Gilead Sciences\u2019s remdesivir, administered through IV over multiple days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recommendations stem from studies that demonstrate the therapeutics\u2019 effectiveness, the agency said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Haider, however, doesn\u2019t agree with the remdesivir recommendation, noting it\u2019s never received an endorsement from the World Health Organization and that is has the side effect of causing kidney failure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
