\n\nThe Southeastern University volleyball team dropped its first two matches of the 2019 season, losing a 3-1 match to Freed-Hardeman and a 3-0 match to Life.

Errors by the Fire (4-2) were a key factor in both matches, with SEU totaling five service errors and seven receiving errors against Freed-Hardeman and had three more service errors, eight receiving erros, and 14 attack errors against Life.

After losing the first set to FHU 25-18, the Fire bounced back with a 25-23 win to even the match at 1-1. Freed-Hardeman closed the match out with hitting efforts over .200 in each of the last two sets, scoring 16 kills and just three errors in the fourth in a 25-20 win, which followed a 25-19 win in the third.

Freshman Jessica Hidden<\/a> led the way for SEU with 18 kills. Taylor Gregory<\/a> was a force at the net with five blocks, and added six kills.

Courtney Krause<\/a> registered 25 assists to help the offense, and freshman Grace Ball<\/a> led the defense with 31 digs.

The Fire struggled to find momentum against Life, totaling just eight kills in each of the first two sets, losing 25-15, and 25-16. The Fire finished the match with a .130 hitting percentage and dropped the third 25-21.
