We wanted to show some love for our Maintenance Division because they certainly deserve it! Firefighting apparatus and equipment play a critical role in #firefighting<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our maintenance group upkeeps the entire #LFD<\/a> fleet and all the tools essential to public safety. Composed of 3 full-time employees \u2013 all certified firefighters, the division makes sure all equipment is up to #NFPA<\/a> and #DOT<\/a> specifications. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This can range from breathing apparatus to our 80,000 lbs. tower trucks.Uniquely, they also fabricate and install equipment to the rescue trucks in-house. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Through this process, they turn a plain pickup truck into the outfitted rescue vehicles you see around town. Handling these modifications internally saves taxpayers up to $50,000 per rescue truck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Lakeland Fire Department is fortunate to have these experts as part of our team. Through their work, we can keep our #firefighters<\/a> adequately equipped and our public safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
