When debating about the negative impact of building 244 high-density apartment units with approximately 500 cars on two lots adjacent to Lake Miriam Square on the clogged road Lk Miriam Drive, you can\u2019t mention TRAFFIC, per a Florida statute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Florida legislature, in their wise lawmaking, deemed that saying that traffic was the reason not to build another anything-big-and-unreasonable on that same road was unfair to the developers. After all, they didn\u2019t break the already failing road, so they couldn\u2019t be held responsible for the impact of the additional new monstrosity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let that sink in.  So, developers\/investment companies can\u2019t be denied their request to build more-bigger-extra on overburdened thoroughfare because of the ELEPHANT ON THE ROAD- that we can\u2019t mention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How is the ROAD DIET working, thanks to the Florida Department of Transportation\u2019s recommendation for our community?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this kind of lawmaking, the Florida Legislature could mandate:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Doctors must prescribe the dessert \u201cDeath by Chocolate\u201d because the patient is already obese and in FAILING health.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tell Lakeland City commissioners to VOTE to DENY on the zoning change and not be intimidated by Florida statutes.\u00a0 March 21 City Hall 3rd floor 9 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
