When we pulled up to the campground and inquired about the cat&#8217;s location, several people pointed him out to us. Sadly no one has been willing to take him to a vet for medical treatment. It&#8217;s truly amazing that people can be so hardcore to ignore a cat in such horrible distress. When we saw the photos of the cat on FB, we knew we had to help. We found him lying on the bench of a picnic table where a man was grilling hamburgers. He was scrunched up in a fetal position and you could immediately tell he felt so bad. When we spoke to him, he stood up and we were able to place him in a carrier without any trouble. We bought some canned food to feed the poor soul. When the lid was popped on the can, the cat began clawing at the carrier door to eat. He ate several ounces right away before curling up to take a nap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After a closer inspection, the cat is in worse condition than we first thought. His ears are crusty and very stiff, his face and head are extremely swollen from an infection he also has crusty lesions on his legs and belly. In addition, he is quite a bit underweight. Revolution Plus was applied to get a head start on treating scabies. We are at the vet right now and waiting to be seen. We will update everyone when the vet has been able to examine him and prescribe treatment. We&#8217;ve decided to name this sweet baby Sampson.
