Lunch is also provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe are honored to kick off Polk State\u2019s celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month with Congressman Soto, who continues to influence positive change in the Hispanic community and for all constituents of Polk County,\u201d Polk State President Angela Garcia Falconetti said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The College\u2019s Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion partners with the Polk State College Foundation, Student Activities and Leadership Office (SALO), The Arts, the Creative Writing Club, Educational Talent Search, the Honors Program, International Circle, the \u00danete Club, Club Hispano de Lakeland, and Events by Violet to bring cultural events to Polk State\u2019s campuses for Hispanic Heritage Month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The celebration culminates with the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship Fiesta held October 16 in the Polk State Lakeland Campus Student Center, where students are awarded for their academic achievements and service to the community. Students may apply for the Hispanic Heritage Scholarship by 11:59 p.m. September 10. The application is available online at<a href=\"http:\/\/www.foundation.polk.edu\/hhm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">foundation.polk.edu\/hhm<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The College is also an active participant in the Annual Hispanic Festival hosted by Club Hispano de Lakeland. This year\u2019s festival is October 26.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Events are free unless otherwise noted.
