When will it STOP!!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lakeland officials have approved plans that will bring a&nbsp;new high-rise apartment building downtown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"660\" height=\"560\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/f9f48fc7-28e9-4436-b810-ef09cbed6360-Screen_Shot_2021-10-22_at_3.00.27_PM.webp?resize=660%2C560&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22231\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">City commissioners voted 6-to-1&nbsp;Monday to approve the sale of the city-owned Oak Street parking lot to Tampa-based developer Onicx Investments, LLC for about $1.83 million. The deal makes way for the construction of a 200-unit, 7-story high-rise apartment building with a parking garage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Onicx has committed to keeping 15 units as affordable housing for individuals making 80% or less of the Polk&#8217;s area median income for at least 15 years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The city has offered to contribute <strong>up to $736,000<\/strong> toward covering fees for site plans, building permits, inspections, and utility fees.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The CRA negotiated a 10-year TIF agreement with the developer under which it would get an 80% break-in taxes for the first five years, and a 60% break for the following five years<strong>.
