Mixed media artist and avid thesaurus reader Todd Cheyney was beyond thrilled to be accepted once again at this year\u2019s Mayfaire by-the-lake outdoor art festival.  Other than the oppressive heat, the only other thing he was concerned about was which artist would be set up next to his tent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI\u2019m euphoric to be back in Lakeland for this show.  The people are unsurpassed, the artists are immoderately obliging, and the city is exuberantly benevolent.\u201d, Cheyney continued, \u201cWhat causes me trepidation and discomposure is whether I will, once again, be placed next to the pan flute guy.\u201d  While Cheyney doesn\u2019t want to disparage the talent, artistry, and endurance required to play the pan flute for 10 hours straight, he did admit that \u201cthe ethereal and gossamery tunes become something other than a source of tranquility and equanimity after the first few hours.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swan City News located Todd Saturday afternoon at his tent and found him, once again, next to the pan flute artist.\u00a0 A surprisingly chipper Cheyney explained, \u201cIt really isn\u2019t so lamentable this year.\u00a0 For $300, Gunther rents noise-canceling headphones to artists with contiguous tents.\u00a0 It\u2019s the best $300 I\u2019ve ever spent!\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
