For the North Atlantic…Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Widespread cloudiness and showers extending from the\nsoutheastern<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bahamas northward over the southwestern Atlantic for a few<\/p>\n\n\n\n

hundred miles are associated with a surface trough of low\npressure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Limited development of this system is anticipated today or<\/p>\n\n\n\n

tomorrow, however conditions are forecast to become a little more<\/p>\n\n\n\n

favorable for development over the weekend, and a tropical<\/p>\n\n\n\n

depression could form as the disturbance moves slowly toward the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

west-northwest across the Florida Straits or South Florida and\nover<\/p>\n\n\n\n

the eastern Gulf of Mexico. \nRegardless of development, this<\/p>\n\n\n\n

disturbance could produce periods of locally heavy rainfall and<\/p>\n\n\n\n

gusty winds across the Bahamas through Thursday, and across\nFlorida<\/p>\n\n\n\n

during the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Formation chance through 48 hours…low…20 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Formation chance through 5 days…medium…60 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. A broad low pressure system, associated with a tropical wave,\nis<\/p>\n\n\n\n

located about 650 miles east of the Lesser Antilles.  This<\/p>\n\n\n\n

disturbance is accompanied by a large but disorganized area of<\/p>\n\n\n\n

cloudiness and thunderstorms. \nThis system is forecast to move<\/p>\n\n\n\n

westward toward unfavorable upper-level winds for tropical cyclone<\/p>\n\n\n\n

formation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

* Formation chance through 5 days…low…10 percent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. A tropical wave located between the west coast of Africa and\nthe<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabo Verde Islands is forecast to move quickly westward during the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

next several days. Some slow development is possible over the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

weekend or early next week when the system is moving over the<\/p>\n\n\n\n

tropical Atlantic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
