A new water-based pirate-themed ride is coming to LEGOLAND Florida<\/a> this fall that the theme park says will take families on a \u201cswashbuckling quest\u201d for treasure.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Pirate River Quest is scheduled to open on Nov. 2\u00a0to immerse park visitors in a search for Captain Redbeard\u2019s lost treasure \u2013\u00a0an adventure promising to sprinkle riders with humor along the journey, a press release said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A rowdy Lego pirate crew will \u201ctell tales\u201d as riders engage in a \u201cquest to uncover the lost treasure.\u201d Families will witness a variety of entertaining sequences within lush gardens moving along a natural waterway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The new story line, features the newest Lego pirate character, Calico Jade, as well as other exotic Lego creatures, the release said. The plot involves \u201ca flamboyance of bright flamingos, a troop of mischievous monkeys and even a fearsome kraken.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ride sails along Lake Eloise and the historic Cypress Gardens. \u201cThis one-of-a-canal tour\u201d is unique to LEGOLAND Florida Resort,” LEGOLAND said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For now, LEGOLAND will be sharing \u201cbehind the bricks\u201d moments on its website and social media sites as the Pirate River Quest ride inches closer to its opening day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Located in Winter Haven, the 150-acre LEGOLAND Florida Resort is a 45-minute drive from Orlando and Tampa. The theme park features more than 50 rides, live shows and themed attractions inspired by popular LEGO-branded characters, and a water park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The LEGOLAND resort offers several themed hotels, including the new Pirate Island Hotel. Across the parking area, a new Peppa Pig theme park based on the English television show opened Feb. 24 for toddlers to pre-teens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The parks and hotels are owned by Merlin Entertainments, which operates 138 attractions, 23 hotels and 6 holiday villages in 24 countries across four continents. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
