After a two-week deployment as a member of FL Region 4\/6 AHIMT<\/a>, Battalion Chief John Maddox has returned from Eastern Kentucky, where he assisted with logistics in the City of Hindman after devasting floods in the area last month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Maddox worked with team members from Region 3 All Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT), the Knott County Emergency Operations Center (EOC), and the State of Kentucky EOC to secure immediate need items such as portable restrooms, hand washing stations, shower trailers, laundry trailers, and light towers. Hindman City Hall was designated as a Point of Distribution (POD) for the City residents \u2013 Chief Maddox would assist with staffing the POD daily with volunteers and other support agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
