Jon Ahlschwede is Lakeland’s original entrepreneur. He was born and raised in Lakeland and is an LHS Graduate – Class of 1965.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jon enjoys things that are crafted from wood. His dad was his role model and was his inspiration for working with wood.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jon has collected a large supply of exotic woods including swamp white oak, black walnut, mahogany,\u00a0and maple.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He created a large wooden black walnut sea turtle to hang\u00a0on the wall out of the exotic wood.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pieces of the different woods are creatively put together like a jigsaw puzzle. Each piece is hand-cut and created with precision and craftsmanship.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was then inspired by Florida\u2019s famous Tarpon and created the Black Walnut Tarpon wall hanging. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are more creative wall hangings of wooden fish, turtles, and Lakeland’s famous swans. Each piece of art is shaped, sanded smooth, and finished with tung oil. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jon’s other creative pieces are cut from white wood and fir. They are painted with \u201chappy colors\u201d that are vibrant and colorful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jon is very thankful to the ‘Scout & Tag’ family for showcasing his creative and hand-made woodworking which are available for purchase.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
