{"id":27002,"date":"2022-11-11T13:34:28","date_gmt":"2022-11-11T18:34:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/?p=27002"},"modified":"2022-11-11T18:28:19","modified_gmt":"2022-11-11T23:28:19","slug":"hca-healthcare-withdraws-application-for-south-lakeland-hospital","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/2022\/11\/11\/hca-healthcare-withdraws-application-for-south-lakeland-hospital\/","title":{"rendered":"HCA Healthcare withdraws application for South Lakeland hospital"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Hospital rezoning request from HCA Healthcare for a new 60-bed hospital in South Lakeland has been withdrawn and the item removed from the Nov. 22 Polk County Commission&nbsp;agenda, according to county officials. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"660\" height=\"447\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 660px) 100vw, 660px\" src=\"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/37638bfa-eb21-4ba4-966d-297d5e3b8745-Southeast_view_site_plan.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-27003\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">HCA Healthcare had asked Polk County to change the zoning to accommodate a hospital along County Road 540-A at Harrell\u2019s Nursery Road, but the planning commission had voted against recommending the project to the county commissioners after an outcry from residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<strong>\u201cAfter careful consideration, please be advised that the applicant is withdrawing the above-referenced application,\u201d<\/strong> said a letter from Jo Thacker, an attorney for HCA Healthcare, which owns the land under the name June 35 LLC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The letter was dated Nov. 8 and addressed to Benjamin J.
