<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\nCeline Dion<\/a> is pushing and canceling dates of her Courage World Tour<\/a> again to address a diagnosis of a rare neurological condition known as Stiff-Person.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In an Instagram video posted Thursday, the Grammy-winning music icon opened up about her condition and its connection to the health issues she\u2019s faced over the past year, which have affected her ability to tour, telling fans, \u201cI\u2019ve always been an open book and I wasn\u2019t ready to say anything before, but I\u2019m ready now.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cRecently I have been diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder called Stiff-Person Syndrome, which affects something like one in a million people,\u201d she said. \u201cWhile we\u2019re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what\u2019s been causing all of the spasms that I\u2019ve been having.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The singer shared that she\u2019s been \u201cdealing with problems with my health for a long time and it\u2019s been really difficult for me to face\u201d the effects of the condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cUnfortunately, the spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I\u2019m used to,\u201d she shared. \u201cIt hurts me to tell you today this means I won\u2019t be ready to restart my tour in Europe in February.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dion shared that her team of doctors and sports medicine therapist are currently working to \u201cbuild back my strength and my ability to perform again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI have a great team of doctors working alongside me to help me get better and my precious children who are supporting me and giving me hope,\u201d she concluded. \u201cAll I know is singing, it\u2019s what I\u2019ve done all my life and it\u2019s what I love to do the most.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Dion\u2019s Courage World Tour, her 14th concert tour, was originally announced in April 2019 and slated to kick off that September. That month, a series of Montreal dates were postponed due to a throat virus before several U.S. dates were rescheduled due to a cold. The entire North American tour would then be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time, Dion had completed the first 52 North American shows of her world tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since then, Dion has delayed her Vegas residency<\/a> and canceled the entire North American leg<\/a> of her Courage World Tour, attributing the date changes and cancellations to the ongoing muscle spasms.
