Meehan slid a gentle pass across to senior&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/fscmocs.com\/sports\/msoc\/2019-20\/bios\/ling-vannerus_jacob_qwvp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jacob Ling-Vannerus<\/a>&nbsp;who had a wide open net in front of him.<\/li><li>The second half saw Ling-Vannerus net his third goal in the last two games, as he gathered a loose ball near the center circle, and outran the young Rollins defense, and beat the keeper in a 1v1 situation in the 56<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;minute.<\/li><li>The Tars refused to yield, and three minutes later scored on a 20-yard strike from outside the box to cut the lead to 2-1.<\/li><li>In the 64<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;minute, Rollins found the equalizer on a set piece, knotting the score at two apiece.<\/li><li>The match got more physical, as fouls and cramps accumulated on both sides.<\/li><li>Late in the second half, the Mocs defense strengthened, with senior&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/fscmocs.prestosports.com\/sports\/msoc\/2019-20\/bios\/appiah_foster_qcgz\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Foster Appiah<\/a>&nbsp;blocking and deflecting several Tars shots.<\/li><li>Making his first ever start for the Mocs, true freshman&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/fscmocs.prestosports.com\/sports\/msoc\/2019-20\/bios\/pearce_aj_zqn8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AJ Pearce<\/a>&nbsp;made his second save of the match in the 96<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;minute.<\/li><li>In the first overtime session, Rollins had an opportunity in the 91st minute, but could not connect.<\/li><li>A minute later, the Mocs had their third corner kick of the match, but could not convert.<\/li><li>In the 98<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;minute, Ling-Vannerus took a through ball and had a 1v1 with the Rollins keeper, who made a game-saving diving save.<\/li><li>Meehan had a great opportunity in the 104<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;minute, but was stymied by the Rollins keeper.<\/li><li>A Rollins header went just a tad high in the 106<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;minute.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>INSIDE THE NUMBERS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Three of the six matches played so far for the Mocs have one into overtime. Southern has now played to three ties in those games.<\/li><li>Florida Southern is now 0-1-2 on the road this season, and 0-0-2 in the Sunshine State Conference.<\/li><li>This is the third time this season that FSC has scored two goals in a game.<\/li><li>Pearce made two saves on the evening, playing the entire 110 minutes.<\/li><li>Ling-Vannerus now has three goals on the season. He had scored just nine goals in his first three seasons combined.<\/li><li>Meehan found his first point on the season, earning an assist on FSC&#8217;s first goal.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Mocs continue a two-game road swing with a trip to Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, Sept. 28, for a 7:00 p.m. match against Nova Southeastern.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Florida Southern College men&#8217;s soccer team played to a 2-2 tie on Wednesday night, in a Sunshine State Conference match played at host Rollins College.
