The No. 16 Fire capitalized on multi-goal and assist efforts from graduate forward Chase Hovious<\/a> and graduate forward Banabas Ganidekam<\/a> to secure the 5-0 win in their conference opener against Webber International.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scoring started in the 10th<\/sup> minute when Hovious put away a nice cross from Ganidekam that gave the Fire a 1-0 lead for the remainder of the first half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ganidekam added on his assist by tallying two scores coming in the 47th<\/sup> minute and 56th<\/sup> minute. The first of Ganidekam’s goals came off a beautifully placed assist from sophomore Julian Hall<\/a>. For his second goal, the graduate player took advantage of a penalty kick, firing the ball in the lower left side of the goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sophomore Eric Ugarte<\/a> tallied his first goal of the season when he received a pass from Hovious and snuck his shot just underneath the goalie’s reach. Hovious then finished the Fire scoring when he finished a cross from graduate forward Jake Van Der Luit<\/a> in the 77th<\/sup> minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fire defense suffocated Webber the whole match only allowing four total shots, one of those coming on goal. Meanwhile, Southeastern kept Webber under fire throughout the night, shooting 11 of their 19 shots on goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goalkeepers Carlos Curado<\/a> and Logan Whitney<\/a> combined to shut out the Warriors. Curado taking the first half and Whitney came in the second half to tally a save and secure the victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fire are back in action this Saturday September 28th <\/sup>at 2:30 p.m. when they take on No. 13 St. Thomas at home.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
