Undefeated Polk State soared to its 16th<\/sup> straight win<\/a> tonight, defeating College of Central Florida (No. 3 FCSAA, No. 8 NJCAA) 3-0 in a Mid-Florida Conference match in Winter Haven. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first set, the Eagles (No. 1 FCSAA\/NJCAA) had an 18-13 lead, but after calling a timeout the Patriots rallied for four straight points, cutting the deficit to 18-17.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polk State then took a timeout and answered with four consecutive points, taking a 22-17 lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the two teams made four straight service errors, the Eagles won 25-19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polk State took the second set 25-11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the third set tied at 16, the Eagles took a timeout and then rallied for a 25-18 victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cCentral Florida put pressure on us, and we handled it well,\u201d said Head Coach German Del Valle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe had a game plan and we stuck with it. We keep our composure, stay calm, trust each other, and trust in the system.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Manuela Ibarguen made 14 kills, eight digs, and an ace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aixa Vigil reached double figures in kills (13) and digs (12), adding a block and an ace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Milexa Cardona recorded a team-high 34 assists to go with eight digs, a kill, a block, and an ace.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mariane Cassiano contributed nine kills, nine digs, two blocks, and an ace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Suared Molina added 14 digs, three assists, and an ace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Nina Finderle tallied three kills, two blocks, and an ace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Valentina Bahamon finished with two blocks, a kill, a dig, and an assist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Eagles return to action Tuesday against Daytona State (10-2, 2-0, No. 6 FCSAA) at 7 p.m. in  Winter Haven
