Swan Forums Inc. will be hosting its first\u00a0Swan Debates for Charity at The Well, in Lakeland, Florida on February 27th \u2013 from 5 pm<\/strong> to 7:30 pm.\u00a0<\/strong>The debate will be over Abortion Rights, featuring two speakers: one representing the pro-choice position and one the pro-life. After the initial debate, there will be a Q&A session where the audience will be given the opportunity to engage with the speakers directly.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This event will be\u00a0FREE<\/strong>\u00a0to the public and the format of the debate is currently available at\u00a0swanforums.org<\/a>\u00a0(a modified Lincoln\/Douglas debate format.). Our hope is to educate the Lakeland citizenry on the nuances and complexities of the abortion debate while encouraging civil discourse over a difficult topic such as the one concerning “women’s rights”.\u00a0Those debating\/ speaking will be Mr. Alberto “AJ” Rodriguez , Attorney Hardam Tripathi, and moderator Immigration Lawyer and President of The Red Tent Initiative Alison Foley-Rothrock all of which are Lakeland citizens.\u00a0<\/strong>The mission of Swan Forums is to work diligently with local business leaders & owners, education leaders, community leaders and government officials for the expressed purpose of providing accessible platforms, or stages, for which the citizens of Lakeland, Florida can observe and participate in the civil discussion and or debate of controversial issues and campaigns; all while having the opportunity to be properly exposed to all the sides of the political spectrum.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Swan Forums website is now\u00a0LIVE<\/strong>\u00a0(www.swanforums.org<\/a>), providing the citizens of Lakeland with voter education services that will inform the people on how to register to vote, what the many methods of voting are, and how to properly navigate the data-rich Supervisor of Elections website.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lakeland citizens will also have access to political party education services and a community blog on this upcoming website. Additionally, Swan Forums has partnered with local charitable organizations, like Just Cares, the PRHCCPC, Women 4 LULAC Council 7269, and The Red Tent Initiative, in order to bring light to important issues – while also helping to raise money for their respective missions. By providing these platforms for important conversations, and by using such stages to promote local charities, Swan Forums hopes to elevate community discourse while helping to improve society through the advocacy and advancement of philanthropic causes in the City of Lakeland.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
