U.S. Attorney Roger Handberg will be announcing federal charges related to Lakeland’s mass shooting on North Iowa Avenue on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n

From an email from The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Handberg has called for a press conference for 1 p.m. Wednesday to provide an update on the Jan. 30 drive-by shooting that occurred on the 900 block of North Iowa Avenue, just north of the intersection with Plum Street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Injured in the shooting were 11 people, with two in critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police have said four men in a dark blue Nissan Altima with paper tags rolled down tinted windows and opened fire on both sides of the street.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lakeland police located and secured the vehicle in west Lakeland within 24 hours of the shooting abandon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The vehicle and evidence found inside was being processed by the department with help from the FBI, Homeland Security, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and Polk County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the shooting suspects, Alex Greene, died last week after leading police officers on a vehicular pursuit through Winter Haven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No other information about potential suspects or arrests has been released since last week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
