And on the same day, the RP Funding Center&#8217;s executive director, Tony Camarillo, informed the city he would be leaving in May.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"200\" height=\"250\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/tony-camarillo.webp?resize=200%2C250&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31806\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Camarillo told Sherrouse on Friday afternoon that his last day will May 19, as he heads to a new position at the Orange County Convention Center. Sherrouse confirmed on Monday that he received Camarillo&#8217;s verbal resignation. A formal letter is coming soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Camarillo has been under intense pressure during the past year from city commissioners to increase the convention center&#8217;s revenue. Mayor Bill Mutz said at the commission&#8217;s strategic planning retreat he wanted to see the city&#8217;s annual subsidy of the RP Funding Center reduced significantly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What the ______ is going on at the RP center?
