Education is a crucial part of the equation for successful management of the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen a patient is diagnosed with chronic kidney disease \u2013 especially in its more advanced stages \u2013 their uncertainty of the journey ahead can be profound,\u201d announced Watson Clinic\u2019s board-certified nephrology specialists&nbsp;<strong>Michael J. Achinger, MD, MPH<\/strong>,<strong>&nbsp;Steven G. Achinger, MD, FASN<\/strong>, and&nbsp;<strong>Patrick Francois, MD<\/strong>. \u201cBut the more they learn about their condition and the options available to them, the more they can control their situation and thrive in it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For patients who have been diagnosed with stage 4 Chronic Kidney Disease, the department offers a series of classes designed to help patients gain a better understanding of their disease and to make the best decisions in their management of it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These one-on-one classes shed light on a variety of topics including proper diet, treatment options including kidney transplantation and home dialysis, and the daily ins-and-outs of living successfully with the disease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These weekly classes are offered by appointment at Watson Clinic\u2019s Nephrology offices on the following days:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Every Monday at Watson Clinic Highlands, 2300 E.
