Ron DeSantis&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flgov.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/06\/6.2.23-Veto-Letters.pdf\">on Friday vetoed<\/a>&nbsp;his first bills of 2023 \u2013 including one sought by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Offices\/President\">Senate President Kathleen Passidomo.&nbsp;<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">DeSantis struck down two healthcare-related bills, including one,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/385\/Analyses\/h0385z.HRS.PDF\">HB 385,<\/a>\u00a0involving professional counseling services that had been approved unanimously by lawmakers. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The other,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/230\/?Tab=Analyses\">SB 230<\/a>, sought by Passidomo, a Naples Republican,\u00a0proved more controversial as it made its way through the House and Senate.
