At the Humane Society of Polk County, part of our no-kill vision is to reduce the number of unwanted dogs and cats being born which will reduce the number of animals entering our local shelters. We can do this by providing affordable spay and neuter services.\u00a0We are very excited to announce that we will be focusing our efforts on cats by offering low-cost spay-neuter vouchers for cats only at this time here at the Humane Society of Polk County.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may now purchase a voucher online for a cat spay for $75 and a cat neuter for $50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DISCLOSURE<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After you purchase your voucher, call the Humane Society of Polk County at 863-324-5227 to set up your appointment.  We are open Tuesday \u2013 Friday from 10:30 to 6 and Saturday from 10:30 to 4 (closed from 1-2 each day for lunch and the last Friday at the month for staff training).   ****Bring the voucher with you to your pet\u2019s appointment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Humane Society has the right to refuse surgery for any animal in poor health or deemed unfit for a surgical procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pre \u2013 Op blood work is mandatory for cats 7 years and older.  This must be provided by your vet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No food after midnight prior to surgery.  If your pet has fleas there will be an additional charge of $10 for flea treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your pet has been vaccinated you must bring proof of the current rabies vaccine administered by a licensed veterinarian within the last year, if the rabies vaccine is not current it will be administered for a charge of $15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no additional charge for females in heat or pregnant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Microchips are available for $25 which includes a lifetime registration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Drop off time is at 8:00am and pick up is at 4:00 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All cats must be in an individual carrier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
