Additional equipment regulations, training for staff and testing will be required as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tik Tok<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The social media platform will be prohibited on school district devices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Permitless Carry<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Guns can be carried almost anywhere. Exceptions include airports and courthouses. You need to be qualified, but don\u2019t need a permit. Keep in mind this only applies when you are within the state of Florida. If you travel, obviously you must abide by that state\u2019s laws. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/1550\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read the full bill here.<\/a>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Death Penalty<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It will no longer require a unanimous jury vote to sentence someone to death.&nbsp; 8 out of the 12 members of the jury must vote for the execution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Immigrant Workers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you employ more than 25 workers, you have to verify they can work in the U.S. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/1718\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read the full bill here.<\/a>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Florida State Guard<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The number of members will more than triple to 1500 to assist with weather emergencies, costing over $100 million. Opponents of the idea expressed concern over the governor having his own militia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Menstrual Hygiene Products In Schools<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">School districts will be allowed to distribute free menstrual hygiene products. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/389\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">More on this bill.<\/a>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>9\/11<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Teachers will give 45 minutes of time in class on the events of 9\/11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Books<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Schools must remove any books within 5 days if there are complaints about certain types of content. [<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/1069\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read the full bill here.<\/a>]<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pronouns<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Transgender students cannot be addressed by their preferred pronoun by school staff. Students are also limited as to which restrooms they can use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>School Board Member Term Limits<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The length of time someone will be able to serve will be cut from 12 years to 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>College Funding<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No funding programs will be allowed for DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Abortion<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A ban on abortions after 15 weeks.
