However, with the new law, teens wishing to drive a golf cart must have a valid learner\u2019s driver\u2019s license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Operation of Golf Cart (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.flsenate.gov\/Session\/Bill\/2023\/949\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HB 949<\/a>) authorizes a water control district to design certain roads to use gold carts after the county approves the designation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The operation of a golf cart on the public roads or streets of this state is prohibited under some exceptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A golf cart may be operated only upon a county road designated by a county, a municipal street designated by a municipality, a two-lane county road located within the jurisdiction of a municipality designated by that municipality, or a road that is owned and maintained by a water control district.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;Upon a determination that golf carts may be safely operated on a designated road or street, the responsible governmental entity shall post appropriate signs to indicate that such operation is allowed.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new Florida Law prohibiting a person under 18 from operating a golf cart on certain roadways, unless they have proper identification, is now into effect.
