 Florida Southern College women’s soccer picked up a\npoint in the Sunshine State Conference standings with a 0-0 draw at Lynn\nUniversity on Saturday night. The Mocs (3-4-1, 0-3-1) fired off a season-high\n18 shots on the night and limited the Fighting Knights (3-4-2, 0-2-2) to just\nten shots in the four frames. This marked the Mocs third consecutive match to\nhead to overtime and just the second to reach a second overtime this\nseason. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

HOW IT HAPPENED<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf Florida Southern would come out hot to start the game\nas Madison Hald<\/a> recorded the games first shot in the\nfifth minute and just 10 seconds later Cali Larson<\/a> followed with her first of four shots on\nthe night. In the 14th minute, Larson would put the games first shot on target\nas the Lynn keeper, Devan Malcolm made her first of six saves on the\nnight. Amy Volk<\/a> and Candace Metcalfe<\/a> would each add a shot on goal that\nwould find Malcolm to keep the game scoreless. Florida Southern and Lynn would\nhead to the break in a 0-0 tie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf Caitlyn Lowery<\/a> recorded her first shot on goal on the\nnight as she sent a shot to the bottom right of the goal as Malcolm made\nanother save. Freshmen Courtney Chomko<\/a> attempted to get the Mocs on the board\nas she fired off a pair of shots in a five-second span. In the 68th\nminute, Caitlin Quaempts<\/a> put a ball on target but was unable\nto score as Malcolm made another save on the Mocs. The two teams would end\nregulation with both teams still looking for a goal.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf The first overtime period would see each team record a\nshot as Lynn’s Ariella Kaplan’s shot in the 93rd minute was shot out right of\nthe goal. Chomko would record another shot on the night as her shot in the 98th\nminute was put left of the goal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf For the second time this season the Mocs would head to a\nsecond overtime. Florida Southern would dominate the possession for most of the\nsecond additional 10 minutes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

INSIDE THE NUMBERS<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf Staten extended her career starts to eight and has played\nin every minute this season for the Mocs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf Florida Southern outshot Lynn, 18-10. The Mocs defense\nlimited the Fighting Knights to a single shot in the first half. Florida\nSouthern totaled six corner kicks to Lynn’s two. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u25cf The Moccasins are now 11-9-8 all-time against the Fighting\nKnights, including a 4-4-6 mark in Boca Raton.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
