On October 12, more than 500 athletes from eight counties will compete. The event will be run by more than 300 volunteers consisting of Southeastern students and staff members and volunteers from the Lakeland Magic. The event will begin at 9 a.m., with the opening ceremony and parade of champions on Victory Field. It will conclude at 4 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"372\" height=\"136\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/download-1.jpg?resize=372%2C136&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3549\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/download-1.jpg?w=372&amp;ssl=1 372w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/download-1.jpg?resize=300%2C110&amp;ssl=1 300w\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The athletes will compete in softball, flag football, powerlifting and gymnastics. Several of Southeastern\u2019s Fire athletic teams will be helping to host each sport. These events will be located in various locations on Southeastern\u2019s campus including the student activities center, fitness center and the softball complex. Six students from Pathways School of Excellence, located at Southeastern, will be competing in flag football skills, an individual event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the Special Olympics Florida, the Special Olympics is the world\u2019s largest program of sports training and athletic training for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
