This is significantly lower than a year ago when the fuel rate was $70 per 1,000 kilowatt-hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"259\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" src=\"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/lakeland-electric-1024x259-1-1024x259.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-884\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/lakeland-electric-1024x259-1.png 1024w, https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/lakeland-electric-1024x259-1-300x76.png 300w, https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/lakeland-electric-1024x259-1-768x194.png 768w\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the average residential customer using around 1,200 kilowatt hours a month, they will see approximately a $12 monthly savings on their utility bill. The difference will be more significant for commercial and industrial customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tori Bombard, LE&#8217;s Fuel Manager, said that all the metrics are there to indicate fuel prices will continue to drop and be lower in 2024. Bombard said experts predict Florida will experience a mild fall followed by a colder-than-average winter. There is a steady supply of natural gas right now with a good amount in storage as the nation moves into the colder months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lakeland Electric will also roll back its environmental surcharge from about $2.40 down to $1.59 per 1,000 kilowatt-hours.
