\n\nThe No. 4 Southeastern University women’s soccer team continues to dominate its way through Sun Conference play. The Fire took down the Webber International University Warriors 7-0 to improve to 10-2 on the season, including 4-0 in Sun Conference play. This marks the first 4-0 TSC start in program history. The Fire have now outscored Sun Conference opponents 28-1 thus far in 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior midfielder Bania Duran<\/a> shined for the Fire, notching her first collegiate hat trick with three goals scored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“My teammates gave me so much positive support today,” shared Duran. “Without their cheerful spirits I could not have done what I did today.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After an hour and five minutes of lightning delay, it did not take SEU long to find the back of the net on the wet, muddy pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senior forward Uchenna Kanu<\/a> put two goals past the Warriors in the 6th<\/sup> and 10th<\/sup> minutes. The first was a beautiful header off the corner kick from senior forward Rachel Wallace<\/a>. The second was a rocket far post off a cross from junior forward Aisha Solorzano<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duran netted her first goal of the day in the 26th<\/sup> minute, finishing a short pass from Wallace in the box.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Fire took the 3-0 advantage over the Warriors into the half.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It was a total team effort. Every player that was healthy played in the game,” commented head coach Randy Belli<\/a>. “It was a very good effort by a lot of players today.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It only took Bania Duran<\/a> 2:38 into the second half to cement the hat trick, scoring goals in the 54th<\/sup> and 56th<\/sup> minutes. The second was a high header off a fantastic cross from senior defender Siobhan Longmore<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Freshman forward Katelyn Edwards<\/a> netted the first goal of her collegiate career in the 76th<\/sup> minute. Edwards finished a long ball over the top from graduate center back Isamar Duran<\/a> far post to put SEU ahead 6-0.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Isamar Duran<\/a> capped off the scoring by belting a free kick from 35 yards out through the WIU keeper’s hands into the back of the net.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goalkeepers Holly Eddins<\/a> and Maddy Miller<\/a> combined to record the sixth clean sheet of the season for SEU and their third shutout in TSC play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Southeastern travels to West Palm Beach next Wednesday for a monumental TSC showdown at the No. 1 Keiser University Seahawks. Match time is set for 1:00 p.m.\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
