Rides were shut down at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom theme park Monday after a black bear was spotted in a tree, reports said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A bear was spotted in a tree at Walt Disney World\u2019s Magic Kingdom Monday morning, shutting down rides at the theme park, according to multiple reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bear appears to have since been captured. The Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission and other agencies were seen carrying a large black figure in a white tarp out of the park around 1:15 p.m., WESH reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Attractions closed because of the bear included Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Country Bear Jamboree, Hall of Presidents, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Pirate’s Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean, Swiss Family Treehouse, Tom Sawyer Island and Walt Disney World Railroad (Fantasyland and Main Street.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The My Disney Experience app had these attractions marked as temporarily closed\u00a0around 10 a.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Liberty Square, Adventureland, and Frontierland\u00a0reopened to guests\u00a0around 1 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The captured bear is being relocated to an area in or around the Ocala National Forest, the outlet said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In most cases, it is best for bears to be given space and to move along on their own, but given this situation, staff (worked) on capturing and relocating the bear,” the FWC told ABC News in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“During the fall, bears are more active as they search for food to pack on fat reserves for the winter. This particular bear was likely moving through the area searching for food,” the statement added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
