On Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 7 p.m., the Watoto Children\u2019s Choir will perform songs from their brand-new album, \u201cBetter Days\u2014There Is Hope,\u201d in Southeastern University\u2019s (SEU) Bush Chapel. The performance is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based in Kampala, Uganda, the Watoto Children\u2019s Choir is touring the East Coast of the U.S., presenting the story of orphaned and abandoned African children who\u2019ve received the love and care needed to help them rise above their circumstances, ready to make a difference in the world as they become Africa\u2019s future leaders. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watoto is a Christ-centered ministry made up of people from all over the world who are working together to ensure the forgotten have a place to belong. The Watoto church was planted in Kampala in 1984 during a time of civil war to speak hope and life to the nation. Since then, Watoto has rescued thousands of orphaned and abandoned babies and children, placing them in loving families. They\u2019ve equipped and empowered vulnerable women in their neighborhoods, and sent over 100 children\u2019s choirs across six continents. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Watoto Children\u2019s Choirs have traveled extensively since 1994 sharing a message of hope for Africa\u2019s most vulnerable children and women, visiting almost every major parliament in the world and meeting a number of world leaders. Yet, as remarkable as those moments have been, the choirs cherish the times they\u2019ve met ordinary people in their moment of pain and have been able to see firsthand how Jesus heals.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The choir\u2019s performance is vibrant and colorful, taking their audience on an emotional journey as the children sing, dance, share their personal stories of hope and have the privilege of telling people what Jesus has done in their lives.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The proceeds made from the album will help Watoto continue to provide vulnerable children with an education, medical care, a safe place to call home and the love of a family. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
