These beacons emit infrared light that can only be seen with night vision equipment and are used to track law enforcement officers involved in foot pursuits, monitoring police K9s operating off-lead, as well as assisting with the recovery of an injured officer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Benefactor of this Eagle Project is the Polk County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Will you be a BEACON of HOPE for our K9 officers and donate today?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/eagle-scout-project-beacon-of-hope\">https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/f\/eagle-scout-project-beacon-of-hope<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My name is David John, and I am a Life Scout with BSA Scout Troop 106 in Lakeland, FL.
