Winners were selected for community improvement programs that included: community education, crime prevention, charitable donations, programs that protect the environment and other special services, such as lighting ball fields and playgrounds, parade participation and hosting blood mobiles.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPublic power is community power. Everything public power utilities do is driven by their community and our members work hard every day to ensure they are not only providing the most affordable, reliable power possible, but also giving back to the communities they serve,\u201d said Amy Zubaly, FMEA Executive Director. \u201cWe commend today\u2019s award recipients for the positive impacts they have on their communities and the work they do to enhance the quality of life of their families, friends and neighbors.\u201d&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This year\u2019s recipients are:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Beaches Energy Services<\/li><li>City of Bartow<\/li><li>City of Bushnell<\/li><li>City of Leesburg<\/li><li>City of Newberry<\/li><li>City of Tallahassee<\/li><li>City of Winter Park<\/li><li>Gainesville Regional Utilities<\/li><li>Keys Energy Services<\/li><li>Kissimmee Utility Authority<\/li><li><strong>Lakeland Electric<\/strong><\/li><li>Ocala Electric Utility<\/li><li>Orlando Utilities Commission<\/li><li>Utilities Commission City of New Smyrna<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Pictured:<\/strong>&nbsp;<em>Back row (L-R):<\/em>&nbsp;Eric Weaver (Ocala Electric Utility);
