During her tenure as a Deputy Sheriff, she was a member of the Patrol Division and served 8 years in the Traffic Homicide Unit. She was also certified as a Field Training Officer, Master Rifleman, and a Master Deputy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>She received her instructor certification where she taught at the Polk State College Kenneth C. Thompson Institute of Public Safety specializing in Radar\/Laser Speed Measurement, Vehicle Operations, and Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT).<br><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2013, she left the\u00a0Polk County Sheriff&#8217;s Office\u00a0and joined the Lakeland Police Department. During her 7 years with the Lakeland Police Department, Sergeant Dunn served in the Uniform Patrol Division and was a field training officer for the department. During the last 5 \u00bd years, Sergeant Dunn has been assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division where she served as a detective for Property Crimes, Special Victims, and the last 3 \u00bd years in the Violent Crimes\/Homicide Unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>But now Sergeant Laura Dunn performed a PIT maneuver at 111 miles an hour on I4 leading to serious injuries. This is completely against policy, and LPD has tried to cover it up. The policy states PIT maneuvers will be conducted at 35 miles an hour or below.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-luminous-vivid-orange-background-color has-background wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>This is the second time she has violated this policy.
