The Moccasins will have a short break before competing in their last tournament of the fall season at the Stetson Hatter Invite in DeLand from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>HOW IT HAPPENED<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The all-Moccasin third-place match for doubles flight A between&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/fscmocs.prestosports.com\/sports\/wten\/2019-20\/bios\/kim_minnie_7inm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Minnie Kim<\/a>\/Vidgren and Hesse\/<a href=\"http:\/\/fscmocs.prestosports.com\/sports\/wten\/2019-20\/bios\/vetter_laura\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Laura Vetter<\/a>&nbsp;will be played at a later date.<\/li><li>Singles flight A saw an all-FSC matchup between Vetter and Kim in the fifth-place matchup, with Vetter emerging victorious in two 6-4 sets.<\/li><li>Vidgren and Hesse finished second and third respectively in singles flight B as the former fell 6-3, 6-4 to Georgina Groth of Rollins in the first-place match while the latter battled to three sets against Marie Debruyn of Rollins in a 6-4, 2-6, 10-4 third-place match.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Coach Riddell&#8217;s take&#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Those that participated gained some valuable experience in their successes and defeats,&#8221; head coach&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fscmocs.com\/sports\/wten\/coaches\/Riddell_Trish\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trish Riddell<\/a>&nbsp;said. &#8220;We shall continue to work to improve for the spring season.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>UP NEXT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Southern will turn its attention towards the last tournament of 2019 at the Stetson Hatter Invite in DeLand from Nov. 1 to Nov. 3.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mathilda Vidgren&nbsp;and&nbsp;Gabby Hesse&nbsp;finished top three in singles flight B as Florida Southern College women&#8217;s tennis completed competition on Sunday at the Rollins Varner Memorial Invitational.
