Milford-based Burris Logistics<\/a> has quietly sold a large chunk of its business to Michigan-based Lineage, <\/a>a real estate investment trust specializing in cold storage facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n

Earlier this month, Lineage announced the acquisition of eight facilities from Burris Logistics. Financial terms were not disclosed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Burris had been one of Delaware\u2019s largest privately held companies. The company has been selling cold storage sites after a growth spurt that moved the company into Midwestern and Great Plains markets.<\/p>\n\n\n

The addition of these eight cold storage facilities to Lineage\u2019s warehousing network will provide nearly 1.3 million square feet of capacity and approximately 115,000 pallet positions across facilities in Lakeland, FL; Jacksonville, FL; McDonough, GA; Edmond, OK; New Castle; Waukesha, WI; and Federalsburg, MD.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The transaction represents Lineage\u2019s third deal with Burris. Lineage acquired both its Lyndhurst, VA, and Haines City, FL, locations from Burris in 2020 and 2021, respectively.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lineage operates internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A nearly-century-old, family-owned business, Burris has relationships with some of the nation\u2019s leading retailers and food service companies. The acquired facilities will serve densely populated markets to help Lineage\u2019s direct-to-consumer fulfillment operation reach all 50 states.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
