{"id":38714,"date":"2023-11-11T13:10:39","date_gmt":"2023-11-11T18:10:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/?p=38714"},"modified":"2023-11-11T13:11:15","modified_gmt":"2023-11-11T18:11:15","slug":"70-fl-hospitals-earn-a-grades-12-get-d-lakeland-regional-receives-c-in-latest-leapfrog-ratings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/2023\/11\/11\/70-fl-hospitals-earn-a-grades-12-get-d-lakeland-regional-receives-c-in-latest-leapfrog-ratings\/","title":{"rendered":"70 FL Hospitals Earn &#8216;A&#8217; Grades, 12 Get &#8216;D&#8217; Lakeland Regional Receives \u2018C\u2019 In Latest Leapfrog Ratings"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hospitals in Florida and nationwide made significant improvements in preventing a \u201cdisturbing\u201d increase in hospital infections during the coronavirus pandemic, The Leapfrog Group said with the release Monday of its&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.hospitalsafetygrade.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fall 2023 Hospital Safety Grades Report<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1041\" height=\"781\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1041px) 100vw, 1041px\" src=\"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/shutterstock-146147567___06094437491.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-38715\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Leapfrog Group, an independent nonprofit healthcare watchdog group, used an academic grading scale with five letter grades to score nearly 3,000 hospitals nationwide on how well they prevent medical errors, accidents, and infections. Overall, the report shows hospitals significantly reduced infections after the pandemic spike, but patient-reported experiences declined for the second year in a row.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among 184 Florida hospitals evaluated in the report, 70 received the gold-standard \u201cA\u201d safety grade. Another 39 earned a \u201cB,\u201d 63 earned a \u201cC\u201d and 12 earned a \u201cD.\u201d No hospitals in the Sunshine State received an &#8220;F.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Florida hospitals earning \u201cA\u201d grades are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Orlando Health &#8211; Orlando Regional Medical Center, Orlando<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AdventHealth Orlando, Orlando<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>AdventHealth East Orlando, Orlando<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Orlando Health Dr. P.
