A train transporting several rail cars near the Mosaic phosphate mine derailed Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It happened just before 2 a.m. off Mt. Pisgah Road just south of Fort Meade<\/a>, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were no injuries and no hazmat situation after at least 10 rail cars went off the tracks, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said. It will likely take some time to clean up the scene, however.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cars were carrying phosphate rock from a nearby mine, Mosaic spokesperson Jackie Barron said. The unprocessed rock comes from the ground, and there was no environmental impact, she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
