Memorial Blvd. at about 1:45 a.m. Sunday following an armed robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As Sanchez was talking to a witness, he heard a burst of gunshots and yelled to two other deputies, \u201cHey, drive-by, drive-by!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sanchez spotted a white, two-door Ford F-150, got into his patrol car, and chased it.\u00a0 The two other deputies also responded and intercepted the truck at Wabash and Memorial Boulevard.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"414\" height=\"512\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CARRILLO-OSCAR-ANDRES.jpeg?resize=414%2C512&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-39219\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CARRILLO-OSCAR-ANDRES.jpeg?w=414&amp;ssl=1 414w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/CARRILLO-OSCAR-ANDRES.jpeg?resize=243%2C300&amp;ssl=1 243w\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They arrested Oscar Andres Carrillo without incident. As they were putting him in handcuffs, Sanchez wrote in the report, Carrillo said, \u201cIt was me, I\u2019m sorry, I f\u2014ed up.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, eight spent shell casings were located on the westbound lane of Memorial Boulevard near the Wendy\u2019s fast food restaurant where the deputies were conducting the armed robbery investigation.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00a0\u201cFortunately, none of the gunshots fired in their direction hit any deputies, the citizen, or anybody else who happened to be in the vicinity,\u201d Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said. \u201cThis guy is the poster child for why ignorance and firearms don\u2019t mix.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Carrillo is charged with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Attempted felony murder with a weapon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Three counts of attempted first-degree murder of a law enforcement officer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discharging a firearm in public.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Discharging a firearm from a vehicle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is being held without bond in the Polk County Jail.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PCSO Deputy Juan Sanchez responded to the Wendy\u2019s at 1910 W.
