{"id":40717,"date":"2024-01-06T12:23:57","date_gmt":"2024-01-06T17:23:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/?p=40717"},"modified":"2024-01-06T12:24:00","modified_gmt":"2024-01-06T17:24:00","slug":"auburndale-man-dies-in-fiery-crash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/2024\/01\/06\/auburndale-man-dies-in-fiery-crash\/","title":{"rendered":"Auburndale man dies in fiery crash"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An Auburndale man was killed Friday evening after a failed attempt at passing in a no-passing zone ended in a fiery crash, troopers said.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" src=\"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Fatal-crash.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-21599\" style=\"width:434px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Florida Highway Patrol said at 8:57 p.m., a 27-year-old motorcyclist was driving north on SR-39 in Pasco County at a high speed when he tried to illegally pass multiple cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, this led to the man crashing head-on into a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 17-year-old from Plant City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to troopers, the motorcyclist ended up ejected from his vehicle and into an embankment where he died.
