{"id":40922,"date":"2024-01-12T20:31:44","date_gmt":"2024-01-13T01:31:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/?p=40922"},"modified":"2024-01-12T20:31:48","modified_gmt":"2024-01-13T01:31:48","slug":"spca-florida-welcomes-56-felines-rescued-from-polk-county-hoarding-case","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/2024\/01\/12\/spca-florida-welcomes-56-felines-rescued-from-polk-county-hoarding-case\/","title":{"rendered":"SPCA Florida welcomes 56 felines rescued from Polk County hoarding case"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SPCA Florida welcomed 56 cats into their care after being rescued from a hoarding case in Frostproof two weeks ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The SPCA Florida announced Thursday that 56 felines were welcomed into their care, with all of them being treated for upper respiratory, flea infestations, parasites, and various other health conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;\u201cWe are grateful for our strong partnership with&nbsp;Polk&nbsp;County Animal Control,\u201d Shelley Thayer, SPCA Florida Executive Director, said in a statement. \u201cThe good news is that the animals were rescued, the cats are on the mend, and they are extremely sweet and very adoptable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"430\" height=\"430\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1110px) 100vw, 1110px\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/lakelandgazette.info\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/image.webp?resize=430%2C430&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-40923\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The felines will be ready for their new homes once they complete their upper respiratory medications.
